other common names: false indigo, bastard indigo, river locust, wild indigo
Amorpha: from Greek amorphos, meaning generally “without shape,” referring to the flower with only one petal
Fruticosa: meaning “shrubby”
Legume family: Fabaceae (Leguminosae)
