Lilium michiganense Farw.
other common names: sometimes called Turk’s-cap lily, tiger lily, and Canada lily
Lilium: classical name for lilies, probably originating in ancient Greek or Persian usage
Michiganense: meaning “of Michigan”
Lily family: Liliaceae
